Illuminata (Step into the Light)
2025, Soft pastel on PastelMat board, 42 × 60 cm.
Unlike the portraits before it, Illuminata does not wait for light to arrive, she dares to face it.
Where others linger in the half-glow of remembrance or sorrow, this one turns toward radiance, seeking to be touched by it directly. She reaches, perhaps for the first time toward the faint promise of redemption, a second chance shimmering just beyond the shadow.
It is the moment when courage becomes quiet, and faith takes its first true breath.
A portrait of second chances, of emerging from the darkness life sometimes places us in. It is not about the source of the light, but the moment we choose to step into it: the soft, deliberate turning toward hope after despair.
A portrait of awakening, dedicated to every soul that did not give up, to every heart that kept walking through shadow, to every struggling spirit that refused to surrender.
Because light will always find us, one way or another, eventually if we are willing to walk toward it.
